What a Squeeze

Acrylic paint and super gloss medium, 12"x14"

This piece was mostly an experiment for me, since I had never painted with acrylic paints on black paper before. It worked for the theme though (which was to show how an animal and its master have a "bond" together... I went with a Captain Nemo and his squid "friend") and the blending ended up being much more simple than I thought it would be. Thumbs up for acrylic on black paper....

Community Garden Project Illustration

Acrylic Paint

This is an older illustration... one of the first times that I tried to tackle acrylic paint. I thought it ended out OK... though the image is a little grainy...

Turntable ILL

Gauche, approx. 8"x4"

Turntable illustration with the Target logo as the record... unfortunately the color didn't hold up very well when I scanned it, usually it would be more of a "techno" green/blue. Oh well, the casualties of technology hah.

Gift Card Illustration

Gauche, approx. 8"x4"

This was a small illustration that we had to do for a class in which some Target Gift Card representatives (soooo cool that they could actually come into class and give us some input!) took a look at your body of work and assigned you a concept based upon your style. This was my "Happy Birthday" illustration and I did another for the "Adult Male".
Gauche, approx. 8"x12"

This is a design that I'm working on for a local company in my hometown (Duluth, MN baby!!!!). Not necessarily my go-to style, and gauche isn't my forte, but I did have fun throwing this one down on paper!
"Moving Out" Acrylic Paint, Pen and Collage Items, approx. 11"x17" in size

So this was an illustration that I did for a class at MCAD (Minneapolis College of Art and Design) where we were suppose to illustrate the concept of "Moving Out". We could take the context in whichever way we wanted, literal or figurative and whatnot, so I approached mine with a bit of a personal context. In the illustration we also had to incorporate collage materials along with painted materials, but how much we use of each was completely decided by us. And no, the elderly couple are NOT my actual parents hah

Illustration Blog

This is my first official blog for my illustrations! Seeing that I'm quite inept in the technology, web design and any sort of programing whatsoever, I'm relying on this blog (for now.......) to get some of my work out on the world wide web :)
